The most logical explanation is that William Dean was the son of Henry Dean and Mary Dean. He was baptised on the 30th of June 1776 at St Martin Dorking, Surrey, England. This is within walking distance of Walton on the Hill. There is another William Dean who was baptised at St Mary’s in Ewell in 1773. Still close enough distance wise but three years out from his age given when he died.
William (21) and Elizabeth were married by Banns on the 21st December 1794 at All Saints church in Banstead, Surrey, England.

The Dean family appear to have spent their entire lives living around the Walton on the Hill and Banstead areas. Two villages 6.5 kilometres apart from each other.
William and Elizabeth has a considerable sized family their children were;

Henry Dean born 1808, died 1812.
Joseph Dean born 1810,
Sarah Dean born 1813,
Robert Dean born 1815, died 1816.
Thomas Dean born 1817,
Michael Dean born 1819.
Of their children their son William would leave England with his family for Australia and died in Tasmania in 1892.
James would marry Hannah Ann Edser and live their lives in the areas of Banstead and Walton on the Hill.
William was buried on the 3rd August 1823 aged 48, His burial was at St Peter’s, Walton on the Hill.

Elizabeth was buried from St Peter’s at Walton on the Hill on the 15th June 1826 aged 51.

The problem with this is that when Elizabeth died Joseph was fifteen, Sarah thirteen, Thomas nine and Michael six.
